Welcome to Abbey Church North Berwick
As the Minister of Abbey & Dirleton Church of Scotland, I am pleased to welcome you to our new website.
On our Home page, you will find information about our Services, organisations and activities. You are welcome to join us at any of these, and of course especially our Sunday Worship (Abbey at 10.30am and 6pm, and Dirleton at 9.30am) At the Abbey Morning Service, there is a full range of children’s groups, from crèche to Bible Class.
During the week, a number of organisations from the church and the community meet in our premises.
Abbey Church has been in North Berwick since about 1769. The present Abbey building (which is on the High Street at the corner of Church Road, by the bus stop) was established in 1868, and is also linked with the Church of Scotland in the nearby village of Dirleton. Abbey Parish covers the south and west side of North Berwick (including the Law hill).
Dirleton Church has been in the village since 1612, although as a congregation we pre-date that time. In 1989, the congregation was linked with Abbey.
Dirleton parish includes the villages of Dirleton and the area to the south, Fenton Barns and Kingston, as well as Archerfield, and the Westerdunes area of North Berwick as far as Strathearn Road.
If you would like more information about anything, please contact us. We will be only too happy to help you.
